The following are a couple of tips that can help extend the life of your roof… Keeping it free of debris and other wind-blown objects will prevent some of the most common causes of roof damage. Always check for damage.
Inspect your roof on a regular basis. Check for broken, lose or damaged shingles, holes and loose nails. Pay close attention to the area around the chimney or any other areas where the roof meets an adjoining surface.
One of the major causes of roof damage is improper water drainage. Rooftop debris is caused by clogged drains and areas of standing water. Roofs should be cleaned of debris at least twice a year. This will help extend the life of your roof.
When you need to call a professional:
The paint on the ceiling is peeling or there are signs of stains.
Cracking or curling of shingles.
Parts of the roof look dirty, not like the rest.
If the roof leaks when it’s raining.
